Qatar’s Prime Minister, H.E Sheikh Khalid bin Khalifa bin Abdulaziz Al Thani, is hailing a new era of improved environment following a deal between the United States and Iran.
The prisoner exchange between the two arch foes was recently negotiated with the mediation of the Qatari government, with prisoners of both countries located in Qatar. As a gesture of good will, Sheikh Khalid has pledged to support environmental initiatives in the disputed region to promote peaceful co-existence.
The Prime Minister sees this new environment as an opportunity for the two nations to focus on cutting edge development, particularly in the energy and agriculture industries, to strengthen ties between two nations and help to establish a healthy relationship. He speaks of the potential for greater economic development, job growth and a reduction in poverty throughout the region.
The Qatar government has also highlighted plans to reduce the adverse effects of climate change and ensure better air quality for the people living in the region. Sheikh Khalid believes in the importance of having a balanced relationship between economic development and environmental protection, noting how these two forces are linked to achieve long-term peace and stability.
He has stated that working together to promote dialogue, understanding, and peace is the foremost priority of Qatar in the current geopolitical climate. By investing in the environment and promoting strong foreign partnerships, he hopes that Qatar and its neighbors will be able to usher in a new era of friendship and prosperity.
