As President Joe Biden enters into his fourth year of office, it’s worth taking a few moments to review how his term has gone so far. The administration is already off to a successful start, making many important and difficult decisions in the face of an unprecedented pandemic and economic crisis, the latter leading to the Biden administration’s historic relief package.
With foreign policy, the president quickly set out to repair America’s international image by rejoining the Paris Climate Agreement and praising diplomatic efforts with North Korea, as well as developing a strained relationship with Russia. Right out of the gate, steps such as these marked a shift from the previous administration’s foreign policies and marked Biden as a leader who is willing to take diplomatic risks and preserve international relationships.
Domestically, the president is working to manage the pandemic with the goal of providing relief to individuals and businesses by offering vaccines and much needed economic aid. He is also tackling important issues such as climate change, racial inequality, systemic racism, gun violence, and child poverty. In addition, the focus on infrastructure is designed to create jobs and offer training opportunities while capitalizing on the renewed interest in renewable energy.
As we enter the fourth year of the Biden presidency, it is certain that we will see more of the leadership and bold initiatives that have characterized his first three years in office. With a long road ahead, Americans can expect Biden to make good on his promises of hope and a better future for all.
